The other day I shared my January bees and BOMs progress, but I kept one especially for today - my And Sew On... January block.
This is such a quick and easy pattern! All one section and perfect for a paper piecing beginner. I adapted it slightly to fit the measuring tape fabric I had as it was skinnier than the section. Just draw 2 new lines and I was good. If you haven't already, grab it now as it's only free for the month of January! And if you link it up at the end of the month, there's some prizes on offer! By the way, if you like the fabrics I used, they're Japanese and are very similar to the sort of fabric available in February's sewing-themed Japanese Bundle Club!
The other Quiet Play finish this week is pattern-testing a new range of paper pieced typewriter font! Kristy has assigned a whole bunch of lovely words to her pattern testers to trial in both upper case and lower case that are going to be sent to her for her to quilt up and donate to the Tasmanian bushfire appeal. Nevermind the dodgy morning light, but I had to share it today to show off more of her clever work! And yes, I did use Joy by Kate Spain to piece 'joy'. Keep an eye out for the pattern in her Craftsy shop soon!
