Wow, already a finish off my FAL list! Mind you, I did only have to finish the binding last night to get it ticked off.
This is Apple Bites - a little stroller/pram quilt for my sister using my Quick Piece Herringbone method. It measures in at just 24.5" x 17" - perfect to cover my little niece/nephew. I zigzagged the quilting a 1/4" from the seams. The obvious choice!
This is the first time I've labelled a quilt, and I kinda just made it up. Zigzag cut around the edge, stitch it to the backing, quilt over it. Hopefully that'll keep it on safe and sound. And a scrappy blue and grey binding from some more jelly roll strips.
I had a couple of assistants trying to help me photograph... helping being a relative term...

ReplyDeleteGreat quilt label Alyce! Do you mind if I borrow your idea? I love the Little Apples collection - I have a couple of jelly rolls I'd like to use in a quilt this year.

ReplyDeleteSuper fabric! I love the little turtles (Turtle is my hubby's nickname!) Great job!
ReplyDeleteA nice, streamlined design.
ReplyDeleteYour helper brought back memories. Often my daughter would "help" in he kitchen, but sometimes I'd say, "Not now, I'm in a hurry." One time, she looked at me with a puzzled look and asked, "But if I help wouldn't it go faster?" I don't remember how I got out of that one.
You did a great job on the lable. The first half year last year I was great and got a lable on every quilt. And then I kinda failed. I think one of the things I want to work on this year is getting a better lable and making sure its on every thing I do. Thanks for linking up your quilt it looks wonderful.
